Promises
Don't always believe everything you hear.

He promised me the bright sunlight,
all I got was darkness.

He promised to love me forever,
all I got was hatred.

He promised me the world,
all I got was a hole dug to Hell.

He promised me the moon and the stars,
all I got was an eclipse of the heart.

He promised me everything there was to offer,
that's all I got--the promises--nothing more.
