Let Her Words be Her Legacy
I did not know Sandy, but I wish I did. I have reviewed her writing, and it is beautiful and moving, with a wonderful facility to make the reader care about what stirred her. I have often said a WORD is a terrible thing to waste, but a writer, especially a talented writer, who can make there be what would otherwise not be, who could make one feel what would otherwise be absent, who could make one conjure what would otherwise be lost, is a loss many times over. I did not know her, but I am saddened by the loss to her family, as I know we all are, for a writer, especially, has a power of observation that enlightens the mind and the heart alike. The gift to love in the heart and in the mind and the capacity to observe and care for all things, large or small, is a great loss to those who need her. Words tie mankind to yesteryear like no picture ever can and I hope Sandy’s family find solace in the powerful words she leaves behind. God Bless her family and all of those affected by this tragedy.
