Death once near

Death came over
all I felt was fear, yet I was
in peace

many hung over
trying to pull me away from the light

to scared to do or say anything
but still got pulled back
not my time to go
many things to do in this life

Now a year has passed
although many things new
I yearn to know of that light
what was at the other end?

many questions race in my mind

would my pain and loneliness have gone?
would have love filled my heart so that it would have burst, instead of this emptiness i feel?

no answers to my question, no rest for my mind
only the memory of Death once near that haunts my dreams
