Something’s Missing
Life minus that significant other… When my bed becomes too big And my soul feels devoid of warmth When my life seems only half fulfilled… I know something’s missing. When reclusion becomes my occupation And solitude becomes a norm When the dark becomes my friend… I know something’s missing. When my Sky bares no stars And my Earth bares no fruit When my universe has no centre… I know something’s missing When I run out of excuses to carry on And my existence seems a waste of time When I fail to find inner peace… I know something’s missing When there are no hands holding mine, And my arms find nothing but thin air to embrace When none claims me as theirs… I know something’s missing When love and I become distant, And affection alienates itself from me When dreams are all I have… For sure, something’s missing
