Black fire which I see before me
On this enchanting and haunting night, Why do you cast me into shadows When you are suppose to compel me to light? Why do you flicker with darkness, Flicker with a tint of unholy color? Why do you shine like the dark heavens, Why do you shine like no other? No candle can hold you, no torch can restrain Those cursed embers pouring down like hot rain. Black fire, you dark fouled fool, You sit in the shadows and you sit in front of me. Why do you haunt me with your flames? I will not give in so easily. Don't beg for your mercy, don't try, Because your pain is known here. Don't whisper at the shadows around you, Don't cast them into your glow and fear. No candle can hold you, no light can compel Your fiery laughter, a lonely one I can tell. Black fire, you shadow of the light, You scavenger of the hunted, You messenger of the corrupted night. Don't flicker, don't glow, don't move at all. Your warmth causes pain in others, And from your candle the wax does fall. You fade, and you fade, and you fade away. You fade into sky, into dusk, into day. Black fire, shadow of night, light's evil foe, With one word and a breath I do justice. Now follow, leave no trace... Go!
