Climb
Is it better to be part of the usual or break free from it?

One step, then two,
The shadow climbed
A little higher, a little longer.
It crawled as high as it knew,
Reaching with its dark hands.
One step, then two,
Its silent movements slow.
It climbed to the top to pause,
Looking back with a smile
For it had arrived.
One step, then two,
It climbed back down,
Where it was engulfed again
Amongst the once familiar.
It calmly laid there,
No where.
