A deep poem about the darkest aspect of death...

No tear will be shed, no eye shall weep,
As I slip away at the edge of sleep.
No hand trembled more or shook with fear
Like my hand did when the time grew near.
No pain should I feel, no pain should any,
But pain which I did and which I felt plenty.
No memories exist, no time to mark the day,
No light did I see to show me the way.
Darkness was the only light to enter my eyes.
Darkness is the only solace I'll have when I die.
No tear was shed, no one did weep,
As I slipped away at the edge of sleep.
