A poem about camp

SOAR
Camplife for site 14 khaki, 8 girls and 2 leaders from Sicamous, Salmon Arm and Sorrento

They knew it was going to be,
An adventure before they got there.
But they were never ready,
They were not prepared
For what was ahead of them.

Even before they got on the bus,
There was exitement in the air.
The bus was 60 minutes late,
But they managed to get there
On time and earlier than most.

The first thing to do
Was to set up camp
And gather water
From the public tap
at the other end of camp.

The food was to be picked up in the morning
Around 7:15 am or so.
Which meant geting up every morning
To make breakfast, lunch, clean up and go
For a whole week!

Everyday involved activities
And even on day trip
When it is possible to have a shower
And relax like on a cruise ship.
O! What a wonderful day!!

Making new friends, having a blast,
Making memories to last forever.
Meeting girls from around the world
Wishing it would go on forever and ever.
Exited about SOAR 2004!
