A little brown puppy not as big as a shoe

Taz is our new baby boy with brown eyes.
No bigger than a shoe he is small in size.
I bought this puppy for my wife's birthday.
So she could love and have him for play.

Been a week.since this little devil in disguise.
Turned our home into a kingdom of his own.
He scampers around from room to room.
Looking for something to destroy or get into.

He tries to chew on anything he can reach.
I pat him on the nose and tell him I said no.
Still this little terror is hard for me to teach.
Sometimes I must put him in his cage.
When I do he cries as if I broke his leg.

I guess we have already got him spoiled.
Not yet house broken our carpet he soils.
Although he is precious in this puppy stage.
Our carpet is cluttered from this terror rage.

I bought him for my wife as a little play toy.
When she plays with him this puppy all boy.
While she is at work away from him all day.
I have to watch him like a hawk as he plays.

If I take my eyes off him just for a minute.
He will find something to chew or get in it.
Baby sitting is alright if he would sleep more.
Give me time for myself and to do my chores.

The only thing I can do to control him now.
Lock him in his cage and listen to him howl.
When I do that I soon give in and let him out.
Then is runs all around rousting all about.

He is worth all the trouble he may cause.
He is a little baby who wants to be boss.
This dog is the smartest one I have seen.
The joy he brings to us is a puppy's thing.
