NOT JUST ANOTHER GREEN THUMB!
Not just another "green thumb" - my whole body has turned green!

I am not - just another "green thumb"!
I have, at times, been "green with envy"
And after too much corned beef and cabbage -
Just green!

Ah, St. Patrick's Day!
I so adore the wee folk;
The music that swells the soul!
The spirit of life that continues
To thrive!

Let me tell you a tale
(As all Irish folk do..)
Of the day I turned green
(It could happen to you!)
Out for a walk in the woods,
A strange sight did I see!
A little green man
Who was beckoning me.
He didn't speak out
But with a wink and a smile
He led me on
For at least a good mile..
To the edge of the wood
Where a musical harp
Played as we stood!
Dancing around
And so full of glee -
Were many wee folk
A-smilin' at me!
The little green man
Looked me right in the eye
And sprinkled fairy dust
(I didn't ask why!)
But my heart took a leap
I started to sing
And began to dance
In the Leprechaun ring!
When the dance was over
I was escorted back
Then they all disappeared
And left not a track!
Back in my garden
I was startled to see
That the "green thumb"
Was just part of me -
Green were my hands,
My arms and my face;
Why, I was green
All over the place!
Now you may not believe
But should you go out
See a little green man
You'd better watch out!
They may turn you green
But deep in your heart
The music and dance
Will play a big part -
And every year
On St. Patrick's Day
You'll remember
How you got this way!
'Tis not a bad thing
I'm sure you'll agree
The song in your heart
Will set you free!

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!
