~Mirage~
By Quizmo LaGrande Try very, very hard To envision what it’s like, Strive to see the dream, Imagine blissful days and nights. As breezes blow against us, The forces pull and tug; The ancients know the secret, The truth at us they shove. Cast your eyes across the placid sea, Set your sight for the horizon, The embodiment of joy stands clear, Sweet illusion for less wise one. Who will lead and ban the frail of soul, Who will hold a steady hand, A martyred wave of happiness, The tolerance of damned. This slight of hand for weak of mind, To brave of heart, deceit, There standing just beyond my reach Yet with forward step, retreat. Never gaining or receding You are there, and yet you’re not; As plain as day, as true as life, Though your touch continued sought. Illusion, life’s deception, Mirage of what is not, Entertain the good intentions, But beware when dream is caught! ~~***~~
