The Wrong Direction
Trying to figure this life thing out

What direction is my life taking?
Where will I be tomorrow?
When does happiness begin to grow
To heal this pain and sorrow?
I'm constantly searching for the key
To open a magical door.
But how can I find this elusive thing
When I can't find myself anymore?
I'm climbing the ladder to success
But there's trouble along the way
And some of the rungs are missing
It gets harder every day
Just when I'm feeling better
I've made it through the rain
Something occurs to weaken me
And causes a little more pain.
I don't wish to finish this journey
This frightening, horrible climb
I want to go back to a better day
When happiness was mine.
I wish that I had never
Gone chasing a fantasy
The only thing that happened
Was I was hit with reality.
If you're living in happiness
Enjoy the fact that you do.
Don't go chasing children's dreams
Or this poems is written for you.

Written during my teen years. This is the kind of writer I was then.
