an ode to a mother
I have to thank my mother for who I am~
Afterall, she developed me.
She nurtured my senses as a toddler
Supported my learning as a child
Showed me unconditional love
Fought with me as a teenager
Even let me cry on her shoulder after...
She let me move on when time came
Still calls to tell me she loves me
When I forget to call because life is so busy.

Her love for me has helped to shape me
Into a young woman, proud of who I am~
Confident, moralistic, head-strong, fair
And capable of showing love.

Most importantly - capable of showing love
So that one day
I may have a child of my own
And no matter the doubts I may feel about parenting
I will always love that child
And show love to that child
And hopefully do as good of a job as my mother did with me
To help her overcome her fears, qualms, issues...
And to live a child's life to its fullest
And have the capabilities of showing love.
