Never
Never wanted to be a name dropped and discarded when relaying your history. Never wanted to be the ghost of a vanilla fragrance. Never wanted you to become a salt stain on my suede boots. Never wanted to be a chalk streak in your black book of experience. Never wanted to asphyxiate myself with strangled syllables. Never wanted to be a stray hair found tangled in your brush. Never wanted to be the scent of absence in your clean sheets. Never wanted to disinfect these once scabbed over wounds. Never wanted to be a scrap of paper found underneath your couch. Never wanted to be a lipstick stained ticket stub. Never wanted to be a reminiscence in the shadow-flicker of peripheral vision.
