MORNING SUN
You were my morning sun, but then things changed -

You were my morning sun,
The light of your eyes
Brought warmth to my being.
Shining so bright
Our love
Topped the charts
Of romantic melodies;
I bathed in your brilliance,
I grew in your knowledge
Of a wider, more wonderful
World -
You left this place
Of my contentment;
Moving on to those other
Dreams
You held so close.
Darkness closes over me,
But there is
Another day dawning;
And today - just today,
I will feel the rays
Of the mourning sun.
