ZEN - Various Poems On True Mind
A short inspiration regarding the purity of true-self

Where beauty is, then there is ugliness;
where right is, also there is wrong.
Knowledge and ignorance are interdependent;
delusion and enlightenment condition each other.
Since olden times it has been so.
How could it be otherwise now?
Wanting to get rid of one and grab the other
is merely realizing a scene of stupidity.
Even if you speak of the wonder of it all,
how do you deal with each thing changing?

-Carver Byrd

Zen: On Enlightment
By: Carver Byrd

The rain beat heavy through a darken sky
Not a soul was present to see it cry
Somewhere at a distance, it began to unfold
That mystery in me, one I’d never been told

Young summers flew on a windswept dream
The years it betrayed, or so it did seem
Denial of truth, I came to accept
From someone foolish, someone inept

Years later, a man with his age
Brought forth the vision, aware of the cage
If laughter had wings, oh, how it would fly
A new world unfolded, in an infant’s eye

ZEN: On Purity Of Mind - 1

Like glitter in frozen water
The day cambers in crystal glare

Somewhere from a distant forest
flows the utter beat to a perfect song

It’s a rhyme, a solitude of time,

Nothing gained
Nothing kept
Nothing ever lost

Zen - On Purity Of Mind - 2

What will be my legacy ?
Singing birds in a spring morning chill
Wildflowers dancing on a green summer hill
Crimson leaves swirling in flight
Winter streams in sunlit ice

ZEN - On Purity Of Mind - 3

By: Carver Byrd

My eyes cast to the fore, I follow a long trail
It turns and bends then roams from sight
Leading nowhere into the world, except in me,

All around, I sense the deep forest smile
But there’s no reason to return the gentle gesture
We understand the same

ZEN - On Purity Of Mind - 4

By: Carver Byrd
(HrricaneWarning)

Nestled deep in my shack, the cold air slithers and creeps
My tired oil lamp whimpers and weeps

In the cold wavy draft, I shrink deep in my chair
A bitter wind assails without care

Winter brings it’s hum, a slavery spoil
So I listen close, leaving mind to toil

It can’t be heard with the human ears
Or felt with emotion or any fears

To touch or try to gently harness
Will only leave the print of human tarnish
