Like a rock within my ocean
A stoic mass you stand
As I envelope and surround you
Press and praise with watery hand

I crash and break upon you
You lean into the swell
Never swaying in resistance
Steady host, you know me well

You, stone of patient being,
As I rise and fall in sigh,
You calm and stave the savage flow
Tame waterfall from high.

Like that of crashing thunder
You brave the striking force;
Spray jettisons above you,
Yet you stay and mark the course.

Green translucent waves of light
Curl and dimple setting sun
Foaming fingers, crawling forward
Caress your stoic mass of love.
