One Day He Sat Beside Her

She stood beside a river bank
And let her teardrops flow
She shed her tears in solitude
So no one else would know

She kept this big dark secret
Buried deep within her soul
She needed someone to talk to
She wanted her story told

When she looked at her reflection
She saw that it was blank
She felt that she was nothing
There in solitude on the bank

One day He sat beside her
And took her by the hand
Set yourself free my child
For I will understand

She wept in His presence
For finally she knew
That all this buried darkness
Was freed and she was new

She felt a sense of calm
And knew that He was right
She’ll never forget the day
God released her from her plight

Now she lives a life
Completely full of love
Each day she sits and prays
And gives thanks to God above
