Garran ran through the rain. Both his twin bladed Kharash axes were in his hands. As he came out from the marble walled side street to the main thorough fare, he saw them. A tall woman in light furs singing to a small yellow haired girl, who laughed with delight in the rain. Then he saw the two hired thugs emerge in front of them. He had to do something fast, so he let out the warcry of his people. The two looked up and judged him too far away to be a threat. That was a fatal mistake. Garran hurled his left axe into one man's chest. He collapesed like a sack of grain. The other was distracted by the savage attack. He didn't hear the change in the woman's song. The puddle around his ankles erupted into a solid tendril that gripped the thug. He went limp in it's grasp. "Not this night friend," the woman softly spoke. Garran was starting to wonder what was really going on here.
