Blood and Petals
I run for sanctuary in the garden, but I find no solace there.

Roses are red,
Like blood on my hand.
Of all the places to go
I had to come to this land.
Forgotten and shattered,
Covered with dark light,
I came to this place
In the middle of the night.
Welcomed by gravestones,
By the sound of something cruel,
I found that my own fear
Would create a crimson pool.

Footsteps on the earth,
My own and a pair unknown.
My eyes study the air
But my torment can't be shown.
I shiver from a crack,
I shake from thunder bold.
Fingertips gently on my skin
But I escape its darkened hold.
The wicked branches reach
Their twisted tips toward my heart.
With rage I run further
And break the twigs apart.

A tear escapes my eye
As a cold breath is on my skin.
I can find no rest now
For I am followed by some sin.
Then I reach the garden
And I pause for the fight.
"Haunt me shadow demon!"
I yell with all my might.
Stone guardians surround me,
Pale flowers bloom for my soul.
My own darkness inside
Has taken its mortal toll.

With silence it strikes
And I am sent to the ground.
A cold shiver covers me
While its laughter echoes around.
Dark claws reach for me,
Their bloodstained tips to my mind.
I might've escaped it before
But Fate has marked my time.
I scream with my last breath,
This moment forever in my head.
In this garden I find my tomb,
Where the roses are always red.
