who are they to look at us
the way they do
when they look at us
what do they see
do they see people
just like them
no, they see us as different
something they are not
why do they want us to be like them
when they know we are not
we are different to them
they do not like us because we are not one of them
because we are weird, strange, different
there are some of us
who can not sleep at night
because they can not walk around
and live their own life
in peace
without being picked on, laughed at, talked about and discriminated against
we are just like them, we are still people
who deserve respect
and to be treated equally
just like them
we have rights
the right to life
the right to be who we are
the right to be respected
the right to our own sexuality
we have the same rights as them
but they do not let us live the way we want to live
do they want us to be
just like them?
