Pathwalker

There is a path I have found
Where silence is my friend.
There beauty is ever bound,
And nature knows no end.
Upon that path do I travel,
Where the trees call me so.
Upon this way is my journey,
And with time I shall know,
For the wind quietly says, "You are lost, child..."

Humble stones of earthen hue
Guide my feet with ease.
Above me once eagles flew,
Watching all the trees.
Sweet dust paints my dark shirt
And a vivid light calls my eyes.
There is a chaste spirit in the cold dirt,
And it calls me with its cries,
But the wind quietly says, "Keep focused, child..."

Verdant leaves dance in the air
Like emeralds of the land.
The golden bark calls me seer
In colors of soft sand.
A fragrant mist rises slow,
Fading carefully all around.
In the distance beams a glow,
Followed by an echoed sound,
Then the wind quietly says, "Follow me, child..."

If I had a path of my own,
This is the one I would choose.
This would be my path to home,
For this is one that soothes.
Even then I would wander more,
For that is the life I know,
From dark forests to chasm's shore,
I travel where I must go.
And the wind quietly says, "You are wise, child..."
