Let Me Go, Mom
A poem expressing most teens' emotions

Let Me Go, Mom

Let me go, Mom
Please let go of my hand
Let me emerge from my chrysalis
And become a butterfly
To meet life on my own.

Let me go, Mom
I have grown up now
Don't you understand that
I need to do some exploring
For when you will not be there?

Let me go, Mom
I'm not your baby anymore
Don't you understand that
The more you try to hold me back,
The more I'll try to go?
