Threshold

         The Lady Ellys continued her story, after listening to the comments of the heroes. All were interested in who or what this Ravager was, and what it's connection was to The Overlord, God of oppression. "In ancient times, the world was formed by the creator. Then the Gods captured the creator, and imprisoned her. Their followers tried to supress any knowledge of her existance. But some mortals kept her spirit alive. I am one of them. Of course, like so many things in this existance, a force of creation cannot live with out a countering force of destruction."

         "When the Creator began her work, she was opposed by the destroyer, her opposite. She managed to banish it so that her creation could live on, but before it was locked away for eternity, it managed to produce a force of unparalleled power. It released it on the world, and it was dubbed The Ravager. The Ravager could lay waste to entire nations in the span of days. Fortunately, a force of heroes grouped to stop the Ravager."

         "They did, using artifacts of great power to seal it away inside a small urn, The Urn Of Utaxi, named for one of the heroes. One of the Artifacts was a feather amulet, the very one you and your master, Allistar retrieved for me, Pyper."

         At the mention of Allistar's name, Pyper bowed her head. Lady Ellys paused, until Pyper composed herself again.

         "It is the artifact of good tinged by change and disorder. There is one artifact for each of the eight philosophies which form the balance, and four which are formed of the elements of the natural world. If someone were to free the Ravager, all these would be needed to seal it again. Currently the Urn is safe within a temple dedicate to the Creator. I think we must next go there and see what is happening with the monks there, and try to protect the Urn."

         "If the Overlord seeks the artifacts, then the time of the awakening must be within out lifetimes. If the Overlord's minions seal the Ravager away, they will be heroes to the realm, and will have a hold on the world. : Perhaps a strong enough hold to bring them the domination they so desparatly seek."

         "Now, it is not by chance that you have all distinguished your selves here at this time. You are called. Harkin, You are a descendant of Hakari, Noble Paladin of the Knight of Gods. : Pyper, you are part of the family of Terrin Glenthane. Bronwyn, you are a descendant of Teladious the Knowing. Uel, one of your ancestors was Quilanen The Master Archer. And Shadrach, you come from the family of Shatarrin, Lord of the Storm. These five were the five heroes who first imprisoned the Ravager. Now it is up to you to prevent it's unsealing, or to trap it once again."

         "I'm sure this will take some time to absorb. I suggest you rest here in my manor tonight, and we can discuss our plans further in the morning."
