I walked today where she walked before, the same trees, the same air carressing my skin, the same water rippling in the sunlight, and felt her presence there with me. I thought of how she might have smiled, to see the sunlight through the trees, and wondered if she felt His presence there with her, as she closed her eyes to drink in the sweetness. I saw the clouds rise and fall, and took a step toward the river, knowing that every step I measured for myself, She had measured also in her time. I sat by flowing waters and watched as the ripples of water flowed to the bank and knew that just like they flowed to me, they flowed toward her. At a time when she needed Him most, He came to her here, and touched her spirit and heart, and gave her new hope for a season. And so I knew of my mother long lost, a wondrous creature of Gods own making. We walked the same path, in the same pain, with the same hope in our hearts. Far across the ripples of water I saw our lives entwined, our spirits joined fast, In Him, the one who is the beginning and end of the ripples of life..
