Words for My Mother
by Kamiah
Rated: E | Poetry | Death | #420462
Words my mother needed to hear, spoken too late, but spoken from the heart.
To My Mother

So many years have passed and faded away,
And all this time I've had something to say,
Words kept hidden deep in my heart,
Locked away so the tears wouldn't start,
Mother, I never meant those words I said,
I never truly wished you dead.
I was only a little girl when I said those things,
There was no way to know what my guilt would bring.
I died inside the morning you took your life.

Oh Mother, now I have children of my own,
Grandbabies I wish you could have known.
I filled their lives with loving stories about you,
It was important that they love you too.
So here are the words I've wanted to say,
"I love you, I miss you. Happy Mother's Day"
