More then a memory
The story of a girl's best friend after the death

“Friends forever”
You said to me
“Forever and ever,
We’ll always be.”

Friends since a young age
I think it was first grade.
“A friend for life” you said to me
And I thought I had it made.

In 2nd grade
We where in the same class
Little did I know
Our friendship was like glass.

Soon it began to grow
More that I ever thought
Now I see why and why
This is when it stopped

You had made new friends
And I had too.
The less our friendship
Grew and grew.

Now we’re seniors
In the last day of school
But I’m glad I met you in the first
place
And I’m glad we made-up too.

Your life had been a mess
Abuse, drugs and much, much more
It’s hard to see a friend,
Almost dead on the floor.

But times will change
And lives will go on
But all I can say
Is I miss you now that you’re gone.

My life changed
The day I heard the news
They later found the driver who hit
you
Was addicted to booze.

Now I’m trying to get by
Doing all that I can
But still I’ll admit
That I miss you my best friend.

Now I even made a song about you lying on the floor
I made it just for you
Using your favorite, G chord

It’s sad and full of misery
It says that my life will never be full
And after you left me
My life went down a hole.

Your life is more than a memory
It’s a story in the news
I wrote this poem to remind others
and myself
How much I miss you!
