Sorrow's Waves
Written to express an inner melancholy

The Freewrite:

it is but a wave
swelling to moderate crests
this too shall pass
and the rhythm of my sorrow will ease.
but from where did this pain come
I may well ask
from deep within
behind those hidden places otherwise unreached.
I will soon ride the swell
to it's height
and there a smile will appear again
for all the world to see.

The Edited version:

It is but a wave,
swelling to moderate crests.
This too shall pass
and the rhythm of my sorrow will ease.

But, from where did this pain come?
I may well ask.
From deep within,
behind those hidden places otherwise unreached.

I will soon ride the swell
to its height,
and there a smile will appear again
for all the world to see.
