Brave Souls
Trying to explain to a child why brave men had to die.

I went to the wall today,
I wanted to lay my pain
and hurt away.

I looked around to see if
I could find someone to
tell me why all the brave
souls had to die. No one
had the answer, and I
started to cry.

I reach out to touch the
names on the wall and oh
how many memories i could
recall.

As I reach up to wipe away
a tear, I could not help but
over hear a little boy say,
there is my grandpa's name on
the wall. Tell me the story of
grandpa please tell it all.
How he fought for his country,
and why did he have to die.

As the father was talking he
started to cry. He could not
even tell his own son why all
the brave souls had to die.

I knew right then that no one
would ever be able to tell us
why, all the brave souls had
to die.
