Reality from Vision

I could lie awake for hours just imagining your face
and will with all my might a different time and place.
Bail this tortured heart out of its own prison
go for broke or make a run, create reality from vision.

You could sit beside me, hypnotize me with your voice,
everything you say and do, realize I have no choice.
Like the flow and ebb of tides I’ll wash up on your shore
until I’m dragged back out and I ache and want for more.

Night brings no relief as you infiltrate my dreams,
hold my mind and body captive ‘til I’m bursting at the seams.
Still, no negotiator could ever strike a deal
for I’m a willing hostage to how you make me feel.

So I'll lie awake for hours just imagining your face
and will with all my might a different time and place.
I've failed in all attempts to break my heart out of its prison,
still hoping to create reality from vision.
