The early morning sun
is warm on my shoulders while the rock on which I sit is sharp and hard and cold. Overhead the sky is blue. At the horizon it meets and joins the deeper blue of the sparkling sea. A pure white gull with black-tipped wings glides silently over the water. The tide is high. Huge waves move slowly deliberately toward the shore rising gradually, with a sound of thunder suddenly to crash triumphantly against the jagged brown rocks, sending pure white foam high into the air to be silhouetted for a brief instant against the blue ~ then cascading down the dark sides of the rocks. A symphony of color and sound, penetrating into the depths of my being ~ giving me a feeling of peace cleansing timelessness ~ of healing and of oneness with God, with creation, and, once again, at long last, with myself.
