The Narrow Alley
My life lived in a narrow alley.

I walked the narrow alley
following the light.
He smiled down upon me
and it felt right.

         Innocence

I was pulled down the narrow alley
by the burning sun.
He leared down upon me
and I just wanted to run.

         Corruption

He coerced me down the narrow alley
he was a dim light.
He grinned with superior knowledge
and I was too weak to fight.

         Control

I fled down the narrow alley
away from his violet gleam.
He cried for my return to him
but his reward was my angry scream.

         Escape

I dream of the narrow alley
and I walk it's full length.
I vow each morning upon waking
I will never return again.

         Hauntings

I revisit the narrow alley
confronting my fear and pain.
He holds no more power to command me
and I am finally sane.
