JUNE


Yes June, the brightest month of the year.
The beginning of long summer days
With warmth in the air
And all that living nature rears.

The shrill of birds in the greening trees.
The passing flight of bumble bees.
The grass spotted by lightning bugs
Like so many tiny flashing stars.

The sound of the filter in the swimming pool.
The aroma that tempts from the barbeque grill.
And the children at play
Anticipating the end of the school year.

Graduation rewards for the hopeful ones
With Prom night so special in June.

It’s the month of romance
And brides and grooms.
Their dreams and hopes
With vows of love to one another
While on their honeymoon.

Somehow the pain of ills
May ease somewhat
For a grateful few
Just basking in the sun
Any day in the month of June.
