At night, when I lay next to you
I reach for you Wanting you To fullfill my needs At night when I lay in another city I think of you Wishing you Were close enough to hold But some nights I sit in the other room Not ready to let sleep take me Wondering, why-- Why don't you come for me Seek me out Show me love Show me you desire me? Why don't you need me As I need you Do I not excite you? Do you not want me? Am I an inconvenience When I reach for you? Do you just wish to go to sleep Instead of kiss me, touch me? I sit in the other room Wishing you would come to me Wonder why I'm not laying next to you Prove to me you want me there I sit in the other room Thinking about when we are together How you drive me wild Titillating my senses. I sit in the other room Reminiscing how you touch me The feel is so real Like there is love behind it But what of my absence? The lack of me next to you Do you pretend I'm in another city still? What of me not being next to you? Do you miss my warmth? My embrace My light kiss on your cheek? So I sit here. Tears gently falling down my cheek Wondering why I am wasting our time Not going and laying close to you... And I get up.
