The Menace
A poem of my road to hell

The Menace

It's the road I call destruction
the pathway to hell
this menace called depression
a solitary prison cell

It's a maddening reduction
of your ability to tell
this menace called depression
has you under it's spell

It's a confusing, twisted, junction
when you think your fears may quell
this menace called depression
lures you down into it's well

It's a sudden, powerful eruption
an emotional, ocean swell
this menace called depression
this pathway to hell

It has a certain seduction
that peace will soon prevail
but this menace called depression
has only counterfeits to sell

Hurry, someone help me
I'm heading on that pathway to hell
where this menace called depression
has sounded the opening bell
