The castle was dark, a mighty palace of stone, Built from the earth and set on mortal bone. A kingdom it ruled, a kingdom of man, That stretched vast and far across the sunlit land. The king was determined to rule his empire strong, Like generations before him had done all along. But he had a weakness, a fault that would cause The once great empire to fall, an unreplacable loss. A year since her coming she stood beside the throne. The king had full power, but he did not share it alone. A tempest of darkness, of ways men did not understand; That was who the king chose as second in command. A seductress of fire, an enchantress of ice, She built her trust with the king upon a pillar of lies. Great peril existed and the empire was at war, But not even her enemies knew the powers she bore. The trolls were enslaved, their own world deprived Of existence in the land, of existance in their lives. The sages warned the king that the lady was cruel, But still he gave her power, still he kept her in rule. The land was governed by her nightmares so dark, But war never ended for her presence was the spark. The generals and commanders plotted for revolution, For to slay the dark witch was the only solution. On a night of eternal stars the troll army did come, And their crimson armor sparkled like a fated sun. Man and beast fought until the end, until the dawn, For war and suffering were the only children the king would ever spawn. While outside the battle raged, inside gathered an army and lord, And in praise to their gods they raised their sharpened swords. In a quick battle of magic the army and the sorceress fought. In her death spirits found freedom, and in Mundi her soul was caught.
