This is the very first poem that I ever wrote!
I hope that you like it!

My loving, frolicking cat, you're a clown to my eyes.
I should have anticipated that eventually every pet dies.
Penelope, why did you go away? Why did you have to die?

Your soft, warm fur and wispy whiskers against my skin,
Enchant my psyche, to make me happier than I've ever been.
Penelope, why did you go away? Why did you have to die?

By my side is where you prefer to be.
You rode on my shoulder; your soothing purr hypnotizing me.
Penelope, why did you go away? Why did you have to die?

I'll never forget the day I saw you on that cold tile floor.
My hand caressed your rigid, unyielding body. Your heart beat no more.
Penelope why did you go away? Why did you have to die?
