One Enchanted Evening
a poem about a girl who realizes what she really wants in life

This item has no ratings.
She arrives at his house, fashionably late
in a flowing red dress with matching heels.
Nervously awaiting the night,
She pauses before
She lets herself in.
He is sitting on the comfy gold-patterened sofa
indulging in popcorn while glaring at the TV
She sits beside him and commences a conversation
The boy, wearing sun-faded jeans and a bowler's shirt
appears calm and suave as he places
his lean arm around her slender neck
She noticed his misty palms and laughed.
She realized in five years this night wouldn't matter
He'd be forgotten
She'd be miles away
He flashed an inquisitive glance
And she kissed him with the promise of tomorrow.
