My Favorite Fiction

I love fiction - in fact, it's my favorite genre to read. I always have at least one novel going, and enjoy very good short stories as well.

Occasionally I will give a ribbon to a fiction piece on the site that I really love.

This story is very short, very funny, and very sweet. I laughed out loud when I read it, and think it is an example of excellent writing. The author considers herself to be an essayist and a poet, and I agree that she is that and more. So I hope she writes more fiction. She's good with all genres, and paints pictures with her words.

My mother fancies herself a poet, which she IS, but she doesn't believe herself to be a story writer. I disagree, and find this very short piece to be wonderfully sweet, simple and quite a good read. She wrote it at a Writer's Workshop where she was given who gave them a specific set of prompts ... I hope you'll check it out!
