This Award/'Mark' has been created to acknowledge the fine work that others at Writing.com do to support the site and its users and bring a smile to our faces. One of the leading recipients of this 'Mark' will be forums, and might be the only recipient, but the 'Mark' is not just for the item that receives it. The creator of the item deserves it much more so, though I don't think I can go around branding people. There for, if you see this mark on an item, don't just think 'Oh what a nice item,' but instead think, 'Oh what a nice person!' The 'Mark' is the Symbol of Light surrounded by the words: Concordis, Fides, Amiticia, Solor, and Decus. These words are latin for: Unity, Trust, Friendship, Support, and Honor. These are qualities that create not only a good friend and fellow human being, but also a great soul that brings harmony to life and others that they meet. If the recipient chooses, which would be honorable, they may use the image, which is on sharing. The number for the image is: 452499. This is it to show others that they have recieved 'The Mark of the Sage'. This is not to boast about the award itself but rather to let others know they are here to help. And now for the list of Honorable Recipients of this award: First Recipient: Pallas Athene

She is always willing to help people and if you ever see her, don't forget to say 'Thank you' for all the work she does. Third Recipient: Stormy Lady
A great contest that has been going on far before I joined. This was the first contest I ever entered and the only one I seem to be addicted to. Stormy Lady is a kind soul that brings smiles to everyone faces and knows just how to make our day. Her great effort she puts into this contest does not go unnoticed by far, and this is just one of the many 'Thank You's she has recieved in her time here. I hope she brings us much more in the future. Fourth Recipient: Papillon

May the forum last for a long time and may it provide many more with a secure and loving feeling. Sixth Recipient: pita for...

A wonderful forum that helps people deal with depression. It provides support, advice, comfort, and all around a sanctuary for confused and emotional people. It is truly a great idea and I am glad that people can come to Stories.com not just to read and write but to also talk to people and feel safe and good about life. The creator is one of the kindest people that could ever grace Stories.com with his presence and I am glad that he is kind enough to help others. It's things like this and people like yesnomaybe ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ The Sage Award is an award that honors the beauty of a work and the effort and thought the author put into it. Though the award will mostly be given to static items, mainly poetry and stories, other items can recieve it if their content fits the requirements. The award can be given to any work that I feel deserves it in one or more of the following ways: 1. The work expresses a deep love for nature and the wilderness. It can paint a beautiful picture of a landscape, honor a majestic creature, or give a feeling of earthen care. 2. The work respects and honors emotion, friendship, and humanity. It can bring up deep feelings in the reader, raise questions and thoughts on the subject, or give a feeling of being human and mortal. 3. The work shows great understanding of the world around the author, whether physical or spiritual. It can give a sense of something greater, raise questions and thoughts on the subject, or show a love for life deeper than most words can. And now for the list of honorable recipients of the award: 1. The first award was given to the work
A beautiful and haunting piece, "The Wind in the Pines" 2. The second award was given to the work
Now there have been many works which I was thinking of making the second to recieve this award, but when I read this I knew it needed it soon. It is a beautiful poem about nature, and feeling its power. From fire to water, wind to earth, the poem captures the rare strength of the elements, and truly showers the reader in a feeling of purity. I am proud to give yet again a black case this award for a work that is truly beyond any case color. I hope the author recieves many more than my simple green ribbon. 3. The third award was given to the work
This work clearly expresses mortality in such a simple and understandable way. It deals with great emotion and feeling, of life and death, of what it is like to be human. It is well written, with powerful words and a deep flow which puts emphasis on the meaning. It is one of those pieces that capture the beauty of simplicity and uses such a topic that makes the reader really think and question themselves. I hope to read more great works from the author and to see more awards given to them. 4. The fourth award was given to the work
This work shows a clear belief and understanding life: suffering is an awful thing, but essential to existance. I strongly agree with this belief. The author expresses their views on this matter with great support and passion. It is a beautiful on such a questionable view. Not many people may share the same thoughts on this, but if one truly looks deep enough and accepts the boundaries of the religions, they can't deny that this belief about suffering holds truth about life. To me, it is like one of my poem lines that reads: "Walker of the shadowed light,/ Bringer of great peace,/ Be life and all it has to offer,/ A greater want than ease." 5. The fifth award was given to the work
This is a beautiful piece that expresses a love and trust in life. It shows a want and a search for meaning in life, but an understanding that even though one can not define such a thing, inside the knowledge is already there. The imagery is beautiful and the flow to the piece is very soothing. The author does a beautiful job of turning such simple yet fine words into a creation of thought and beauty. I look forward to reading more works from this author and I hope that others can get what I got from this poem; a sense of peace. 6. The sixth award was given to the work
A haunting and mesmerizing short story, "Invalid Item" 7. The seventh award was given to the work
A beautiful piece with great understanding of time. The author expresses well the journeys of life and the paths one can take. It shows the power of time, the good and the bad, the light and the dark that it can create and how mankind can get enthralled and trapped by it. It has a beautiful flow to it that captivates the reader and makes the reader unaware of time while reading about Time itself. Quite a unique piece in my opinion, and a very powerful write of poetry. 8. The eighth award was given to the work
I was quite surprised to stumble upon this while reviewing some newbies. I haven't found a piece I loved so much in a long time. It is just such a powerful and meaningful piece that there was no way I could not give this poem an awardicon. There are just so many feelings running through it. Feelings of sadness, of hope, of anger, of longing, of want. I just felt so much when I read it. And the images are so simple yet so vivid to me. I truly consider this a work to be proud of. I hope the author decides to stay here at Writing.com. She has much she could offer to the community. 9. The nineth award was given to the work
A beautifully poetic piece, I feel its meaning can be interpreted quite different for many readers. It flows very smoothly and has a great sense of emotion and thought in it. Though it is fairly clear why the author wrote it, to me there is so much depth in its words and phrases that it is a blending of many different ideas and pieces together, forming this one poem to remind the readers what poetry is. It's just a great read, and I am glad the author posted it here at Writing.com. 10. The tenth award was given to the work
A beautiful tribute to what is clearly a wonderful man, this poem touches the reader on so many levels. There is something divine and tranquil about it that allows the feelings of the poem to transcend the very form it is written in. It has been a while since I found such a touching piece on the site. With so many of the past recipients gone, I was debating whether this award was even worth continuing. This poem has proven that there are still many works out there that deserve some kind of "thank you for posting" other than a review, and I can only hope that this little award can be even 1% of the thanks this poem deserves.
