I was Born a Human
Wondering if my DNA's scrambled.

I was Born a Human

Should have been a buffalo,
or a whale or stone;
or a dove with my mate shot
no...I'd be alone.

Now a pool hall slug and when
the mop's propped for the night,
I choose the handle end since
that's my only chance for flight.
