Last Chapter

Come, share this last chapter of life with me,
Together we'll discover how life should be.
Write it with tenderness, laughter and love,
Append it with trust and faith from above.

Begin each new page with a smile and embrace,
Compose a song in my heart that cannot be erased.
Scribble in your hopes, your dreams, and your fears
Allow me to expose your smiles and tears.

Never turn the page harboring anger or sorrow.
If not settled today, will only root tomorrow
Ripping at seams of our relationship's binding
Wasting page after page of precious new findings.

And when at last this chapter is complete,
Life's cover closed, no pained words to delete,
I'll close my eyes, last temporal breath took
Then await you to scribe our heavenly book.
