The ABC’s of the Lord’s Math (- me + Him) by Marilyn Mackenzie How strangely the words flow from our brains to our pen sometimes. As I doodled this morning, these words spilled from my pen to paper: Proclaim the Lord as Savior Surrender your will to God Though it seems a strange behavior Strength is gained, not lost, o’er all. The words for that poem ended there, but behind them spilled more words, words to expand the thought that there is gain from surrendering to Him. Words to remind us that we must decrease, and He increase. The ABC’s of the Lord’s Math (- me + Him) (I decrease, He increases) Abandon argumentative attitudes Abide, ardently articulate Banish barbarous battle Become benevolently bedecked Confess catastrophic choices Confirm character change Demolish disparaging deception Devote devout discernment Eradicate evident extravagance Encourage eager enthusiasm Forsake fraudulent fears Follow, faithfully fellowship
