HOPELESSLY ROMANTIC I've gone from cynical To comical in my confusion But now I'm elated With the merest thought The slightest hint of you You gave back the sweetest feeling in the world The feeling that I am capable of love The hopeless romantic that I always am When some new crush's spell has me enchanted It's a setup on myself, I know But I'd rather drown in your sea Than spend another second in the false bliss That is my undefined loneliness I have been hurt before, of course And you could turn out the same My experience forces me to be a partial realist But love cannot be real like that in every instance How hopeless it is, but I can't help thinking The romantic in me keeps on suggesting That it really might be different this time
