Blown by the storm
______________________________________________

Tossed like a stone in a strange pond
Sinking, left to drown, broken, alone
In the midst of shifting sands
In the age of un-reason, she touched
The wet soil and smelled it’s fragrance
Tasted it’s flavors, returned to her roots
As a bee returns to it’s beehive.

Embraced by Emptiness, there was no escape
It was simply there, free floating everywhere
There, when the spring buds open
And when the autumn leaves fall
Like the morning sun rising by itself
Like the heart beating within the wall

She opened and gave herself
Smelled the fragrance of freshly cut grass
Looked at the changing sky, and asked, Why?
The stars winked and resumed
Their journey across the skies
Held by the embrace of Emptiness
Powered by the will of the Supreme Witness

Out of this calm sea of emptiness
Emerged the gentle wind of thought
White sails billowed over the gulf stream
She floated into the air of ideas
Floating while connected steadfast
Connected to the shifting earth and web of life
Connected to the path of stars across the heavens

Connected to the spirit of the wild horse
Galloping across the vast plains
Riding her body and mind, without effort
Balanced in giving and receiving
Tempering her urgency with patience
...then

From the vast emptiness came the storm of chaos
From the chaotic emptiness emerged harmony
That which was not, was emptiness
That which was, was embraced by emptiness
Embraced by the spirit of the wild horse
Embraced by the spirit of the grass and soil
Embraced and guided by the Great Spirit
Of star-drops and the light of fireflies in the dark
