A poem to express sorrow over someone else's tragedy.

When I heard your news
I felt like my soul started screaming
I tried to ignore it but I couldn't
it invaded my heart and mind
and would not relent
so I hugged my child a little tighter
and tried to reconcile myself with my soul
which continued silently screaming
