Twilight Ballad By La Belle Rouge I will play thee a twilight ballad upon gossamer strings of my heart and sing to thee arias of enchantment til at dawn we will dread to part I will dance with thee like a zephyr bearing fragrance of lilac and rose and we will let our imagination drift to unearthly mystic places it flows I will conjure for thee a rainbow and butterflies to kiss thy lips Make for thee a strong love potion and offer its sweetness in sips I will gather a handful of stars and present them as a gift to rival the glimmer of loving eyes as love’s moonlight torch we lift I will make for us a bed upon verdant summer grass There I will give thee silken flesh and passion fruits enough to last until hunger be satiated and honeyed nectar quenches thy thirst and thou shall forget all former loves as if I be thy only and first I will weave for thee a tapestry of emerald, scarlet and gold and write a sonnet of my love upon its flowing silken folds I will give to thee my pledge that though the Earth be grown old you shall forever have my heart and my feminine hand to hold © 7-3-2003 La Belle Rouge “Poetry, Love Whispers” Within The Fire By La Belle Rouge As yet I seek to solace my soul With tokens of thy love unfeigned With touches of silk Dulcet velvet kisses Paradise portals to be gained Unpretentious are the words of love Thou dost whisper in my ear With longing lexis And sighs of desire My heart doth lose all fear In pathways unsought and secret Thy love leads me by the hand In silvered moonlight Or candle golden soft Ways of passion to understand Let me be unto thee a fragrant flower Never bruised by hand of man With velvet petals And honeyed nectar Its sweet scent at your command In giving to thee, My Dearest Love Womanly charms of thy desire I do find myself A goddess of love Worshiped within thy fire © 8-15-2003 La Belle Rouge “Poetry, Love Whispers” Her Song By La Belle Rouge She sang from her soul as purple twilight fell and over the crashing waves her voice carried well Far out over the turbulent sea like a marshmallow cloud falling soft as a kiss then growing loud She sang of her sorrow and lamented her pain From the well of her heart forgotten tears fell again She never imagined beyond her grief-filled world a brave seafaring man would hear the song of a girl The first time he heard it His heart was wounded as with the prick of a sword and each time thereafter it could not be ignored Day after day embracing sorrow and waiting for her melody to begin on the morrow Each tragedy she suffered became a mournful song too private and hidden for any to sing along But far out on the waves a handsome seafaring man listened enchanted each day and began to understand He set his course toward the sound of her dulcet voice and prayed that the Gods would bless his choice But waves rose high with a strong boisterous wind And he despaired of ever touching land again He fought like a tiger the howling of the storm fought for his life and to rescue the songtress from harm The ship broke apart sinking silently into the deep He would perish with only her song’s memory to keep Awakening on an unknown shore Head cradled in her lap tender hands caressed him His memory a fevered gap He kissed her sweet lips softly and knew that ere long his love would transform sorrow to joy in her song © 9-9-2003 La Belle Rouge “Poetry, Love Whispers” The Token By La Belle Rouge ~Never To Be Parted~ This token she offered with her love proffered White silk handkerchief trimmed in lace Pulled warm from her bosom where it lay Sweet scent of her skin Infused to stay Dream of me she asked and no matter the task of war and death you must face bury your senses in this token of love and you’ll feel my touch against your face She kissed his lips with fire of desire and pressed the token into his waiting hand Keep it ever close to your heart, she begged and soon, My Knight you will understand That distance cannot conquer love’s strength nor loneliness end passion’s dream My Love, I shall be ever by thy side though far away I may seem ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dream of me, he said while upon your bed you rest in slumber sweet and I shall sail upon the wind there with thee to meet I shall press thee to my heart You will feel me more than near I will sing of love to thee and wipe away each tear I shall kiss thy lips of dulcet fire while in thy arms I lay Pleasure shared between us until the break of day Keep this lock of my hair in the locket near thy heart Thou hast but to speak my name to know we shall never be apart He held her close and felt her true beautiful heart beating so near his own It was a night he’d remember during long nights he was gone He stroked the red silk of smooth soft hair and kissed her long and deep They took their fill of love before they fell asleep Next morn he pressed her token beneath his heavy armor just as she had spoken Next to his brave heart and upon proud white steed his war bound journey did start I shall return for thee alone, My Lady and never more shall we be apart ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The war raged on and he longed for home and the comfort of her arms Fighting long and well he risked his life and prayed she was free from harm but nevermore were they to be together safe and warm After the battle he was found sword through noble chest lying on the bloody ground No longer his brave heart to pound His eyes closed in death tender smile upon his face clutched in his hands a white token of silk and lace She had waited long and hoped to the end for him to return and their life to begin She was found that night alone in her bed Her face in sweet repose but the Lady was dead In her delicate fingers there lay entwined a lock of dark hair a love locked in time Now in deep woodland trails on moonlight nights to be seen a Knight and his Lady ride a proud white ghost steed © 4-19-2003 La Belle Rouge Ancient Flame By La Belle Rouge It’s been dark an eternity Too dark to know what direction would finally lead to a ray of light or a small spark of warmth I’ve been cold a long night like an ancient one resting in a coffin of thick ice for centuries perfectly preserved but lifeless Numb with pain, mislaid in obscurity unmoving, untouched, unloved Waiting for a distant flaming sun to awaken desire to live again Your eyes gazed into mine and saw life no one else had visioned When at last you spoke to me of suns and sacred rites of love the warm breath of your soul melting my frigid crystallized world I shivered in wonder and fear as my opening eyes focused on the fire that leaped from yours and recognized the flame that had once burned within them too ancient, mystical and hot A fragrant white flower of antiquity plucked up and pressed between yellowing pages of time’s volume unseen un-treasured, unloved I waited in silence to know again warm touch of familiar hands the recognizable mystic flow of sacred waters to end my drought restore the subtle smoothness of petals parched in life’s desert Whisper to me Sweet Stranger Are you the Sun, are you the River? © 1-17-03 La Belle Rouge Love's Hidden Flower By La Belle Rouge From deepest ice of Winter’s tomb All life appears but lost Though embrace of ice is but a womb And love will pay the cost With gentle reaching toward the one Love’s hidden flower moves And love will find the waiting sun Who will all her beauty choose © 1-17-03 La Belle Rouge As Long By La Belle Rouge As long as love is mine to give I shall love thee So long as I have breath My love for thee shall be Spoken of each new morn And eventide shall find me Lost in the heaven of your eyes The heart within my breast Doth beat only and ever for thee All that I am or ever shall be I give without reserve To thee alone, eternally For none other has ever So deeply touched my soul Awakened my body Captured completely my heart You are in truth, the soulmate Oft only possessed in dreams The completion of all I am Or can ever aspire to be The other, more beautiful And stronger part of me Beloved companion, Throughout time And for eternity As long as love is mine to give I shall love thee Ride Away With Me By La Belle Rouge Ride away with me, My Dearest Love On strong steed swift as wind And we shall witness such wonders As we have never nor shall again Beyond all chains that bind us Away from burdensome care A land of magical mists shall find us At twilight resting there Ride away with me, My Dearest Love Into russet sunset’s glare They will look for us in prison Oh, but they'll not find us there At crystal steams we’ll quench love’s thirst And sing together a song dulcet sweet While wonder enthralled universe Lies listening, enchanted at our feet Ride away with me, My Dearest Love If only for a stolen day Let not honor cold nor duty dead Convince us here to stay And though we know return we must Before another day’s rising sun We’ll sleep together 'neath fantasy's stars Where reality and dreams are one 11/15/02 Love Not Lost By La Belle Rouge Though myriad of days And distance too great For eyes to vision thee again Impede the touch of hands And pleasured joining of lips, Yet there be nought Of Earth, Hell below, Nor Heaven above, That shall ever remove The memory sweet of thee Which dwells richly in my heart Until it ceases to beat, And even then, if so be That life continues We know not where, And love be eternal; Then eternally shall Our hearts live on, Entwined together In the love that has been So sorrowfully denied us here. Weep not for love known Then appearing to be lost, For that which lives on Within the breaking heart Yet giving warmth and sustainance Can never be lost indeed, But only sweetened by Dreams of gentle passion shared, The swift passing of time And oft shed tears. Love once deeply shared Without mask or deceit Hath become and shall ever be Too precious and potent To ever be overthrown By time or distance Life or death Come To Me Before Winter By La Belle Rouge Long shadows falling Daylight fades fast On brown and russet world Almost empty branches reaching out Bare and chilled, in frost bitten night Trying to remember Summer Wishing for another Spring Only but a few days remain Of sunlit warmth, Indian Summer Then winter’s frigid death will cover All the beauty of once subtle green And bright hues of hazy brisk Autumn Will you come to me, My Love, Before Winter? Will we know only once more The consuming heat of passion’s summer sun As it shines out of season for us alone And though we dare not walk Openly together under it’s warmth Will we once again know its hot embrace Or will snows of confusion and doubt Lie heavy upon and smother our warming hearts As delicate chains fashioned of ice Entwine themselves ever more tightly Until we lie still and cold in winter’s death Where we cease to struggle and rest at last From any thawing of youth and desire Or will you come to me, My Love, Before Winter? Weep Not My Love By La Belle Rouge Weep not, My Love For days long past disappeared Beyond unseen horizon's door Dwell not in dreams of innocence Spoiled too soon by naive race Toward unknown tomorrow The sad situation of youth Being we know not its value Until it has perished Like prophet and poet Despised in their strength Venerated in death Laurel wreaths unjustly withheld Cemetery wreaths foreshadow So it is that which most highly prized And closely guarded should be Is cast aside in careless hurry To be quickly rid of it Weep not for days of teasing play And nights of sweet sin’s discovery They sleep now in sealed tomb of time Beyond our tears and recovery’s hope Some things done can never undone be Like innocence lost too hastily And bloody stench of death Imprinted on souls too soon Forced to kill lest they die Childhood too far removed to vision Youth too painful to remember Love gained, love lost Or stark numbing realization It was never known at all Lifetime spent in mourning That which was or should have been Until all that is left are tears Weep not, My Love For other loves held fast Now In memory’s cold embrace alone For other times and faded places Overgrown paths never to be walked again Hold only to that which with tangible evidence Is all of life and love that remains to us Hold fast to love’s present offerings Kiss the lips of those you can yet touch Reality of flesh against your flesh Heated warmth of blood still coursing And heart beating against yours Weep not, My Love For days and loves long past disappeared But weep for those now present That we are too afraid to live 11/5/02 Lady's Lament By La Belle Rouge Why art thou gone so long from me My Brave Knight, My Hero Of Love? Hath some evil fate befallen thee, Perhaps a fierce dragon Stronger than thy sword Hath defeated thee and taken away The life of the heart so noble and true That did beat within thy breast; Or some enemy with black intention And cunning design against thee Hath prevailed and you lie still and cold Upon some distant field of battle. Each morning I send to thee, My Hero, A message carried upon the arms of the wind, Pledging my undying love for thee alone; And at eventide the bittersweet melody Of my longing heart is borne to thee In the haunting song of the nightengale. Return to me, My Knight, for I am Filled with forboding fearfulness And sick of unfulfilled love for thee. Return and end my yearning With the touch of thy strong yet gentle hands And the flame of kisses equal to my fire. Why art thou gone so long from me, My Brave Knight, My Hero Of Love? If thy heart doth yet live Is it still for me, Thy Lady, That each beat speaks of my beauty And the love that dwells there for me alone? Do you lie lonely, in some wilderness In darkness of night and call my name As I do lie upon our bed and call thine? Return to me, My Knight, for I am filled With forboding fearfulness, And sick of unfulfilled love for thee. Lady's Delight By La Belle Rouge Rising from lonely slumber And dreams of what has been, I hasten to yon window Purple and golden sun fingers Caress gray sky of twilight. Body and soul longing for thee still, My Brave Knight, My Hero Of Love. Eyes weary with weeping Fall upon movement on distant hilltop. Steed standing proud and majestic In last rays of warmth. Familiarity grasps my senses. Can it be? Dare I to think, to hope? Hast thou returned at last to me Thou Conqueror Of Evil, Thou Prince Of Passion? Figure seated atop proud stallion More proud and majestic than he! Straight of back, armor gleaming, Bright sword drawn and lifted in salute. It is he, my heart sings, it is he! No time to don wimple and dress Or slippers upon feet hastening to thee. Let me run swiftly as wind upon the storm. I move, I run as one still in a dream Sighs of relief escaping my lips That long to be kissed by thine. Quickly I move, as a young lioness Apprehending her prey. You see me in the distance And urging thy mount onward Swiftly you move to my side. Even before you can dismount Our arms do enfold and wanton lips meet In kiss of passion’s flame. My Brave Knight, My Hero of love, I sigh. I have returned, My Beautiful Lady, Though fierce warfare and great peril Hunger and thirst, fiery breath of dragon And Hell itself did conspire to destroy me And to banish me forever from thy side, I have returned My Lady, to and for thee alone. The thought of thy love awaiting me Did give me cause to triumph and live I have returned to share pledged love with thee Come let us take our fill of sweetest love For in time I must ride away from thy arms Once again to overcome and destroy evil. Then come into our chamber, My Knight, There in softest light of candle Serenaded by nightingales song, Let me there surrender unto thee, My Love, All the sweet fruits of the love of my body and soul Which have long languished In anticipation of thy return. Let us spend ourselves This night in passion’s warmth And on the morrow the rising sun shall find us Resting peacefully, contentedly In one another’s arms. My heart doth sing And my flesh trembles with untold joy For thou hast at last returned to me My Brave Knight, My Hero Of Love! Forever Sealed By La Belle Rouge Doth the seeking heart Always find That for which Its quest be made? Or hopeless quest alone Become the heart's reward? Is love declared Yet which lies dying Aknowledged not, nor requited, Still to be treasured Bearing same ageless sweetness As love of devotion returned? If there be an eternity Do those who blindly pass Through unseen doors Into unknown dwelling, remember; And at such remembrance Doth brief smile Lighten the countenance Or tear of remorse Fall from immortal eye Sealing forever the memory? If it so be that memory endure When I have entered that place, Then let all those remembrances That do fill my mortal heart With the fragrance, sight Voice and touch of thee Be forever sealed In my immortality By lingering smiles and tears Of my undying devotion. The Unfolding Rose By La Belle Rouge If Noble Gentleman would a Lady know Then he must patient be For a Lady is like a tender rose With fragrant petals He may not yet see. The petals of her mind The fragrance of her heart Will not be known by him Until the Gentleman starts To make her feel she is the only rose Who has ever pricked his heart! With tender words and gentle touch He soon her trust shall win, And if she draws away from him He must start his pursuit again. For like a rose she's easily bruised And he must know from the start She will not trust just any man To be owner of her heart. The Gentleman must prove his worth And offer devotion complete, Before the petals open To release love's fragrance sweet. And the Gentleman's patience Shall be more than repaid For if he untiringly woos her Soon will come the day, The petals will finally open To reveal her heart and soul. When with the blooming of the rose It's full sweet fragrance he knows. Always A Lady By La Belle Rouge A Southern Belle is always a lady. She acts like a saint, Even if a little shady! Hiding behind her pretty, lace fan She knows how to always get her man. She speaks soft and low With a slow Southern drawl Things like, "I declare, Bless your heart and ya'll." She batts her lashes And pretends to pout. It's enough to pull A man's heartstrings out! She's not opposed to Showing a little skin If it makes the Gentleman Want to visit her again. She's full of charm And sensuous appeal, So sugah sweet It could make you ill. With magnolia blossoms And candlelight She makes the Gentleman Feel if he might Die in her arms It would be all right! The poor Gentleman has no chance. She's wise about Southern nights and romance. The way she pursues him Is never clear; He ends up thinking It was all his idea! I Can No Longer Wait By La Belle Rouge In the Antebellum South, honor and vows were not to be broken at almost any cost. There were many loveless, arranged marriages and when a woman was widowed, the rules of society decreed that she be in mourning, wearing black and not accepting suitors for a full year. This poem is set during that time and place in history. I can no longer wait, My Love Thought decency demands we do He’s been gone almost a year And I’m so in love with you The black dress and the veil In public I continue to wear While I lie fevered alone in bed Longing for you there I can no longer wait, My Love Though a year be not fully done Two years before he died I knew you were the one Cold duty kept me bound And honor kept you away But I can no longer wait I need your love today I can no longer wait, Mon Cher To feel your touch of flame With pleasured sighs of passion To hear you call out my name I need to feel your lips Brushing against my skin I must have your love Before this long day ends I can no longer wait to feel You hot flesh touching mine We’ve waited over three years For honor and passing of time I can no longer wait, Mon Cher So make me wait no more Let strong arms lift and carry me Through that bedroom door Through The Mists ~A Sonnet of Love~ By La Belle Rouge Once they beat so far apart Yet so near in need Two solitary hopeless hearts For love’s gentle rain did bleed Sore and wounded in fierce fight Of lifelong struggle to find Comfort in dark lonely night By embrace of love sublime Reaching out by chance did touch One heart upon the other Fearing yet longing yearning much Love’s mystic fire to uncover Two hearts seeking love to find Through the mists and years of time Two hearts lost in passion’s flame Entwined in devotion true Beating forever together the same Possessed by emotions new Two lover’s lips joining now In kisses hot like summer sun Neither sure of when and how Two lives entangled as one Two bodies lost in ecstasy Two souls never again the same Contented loving happy to be Playing lover’s games Soulmates who true love did find Through the mists and years of time Two hearts torn asunder at last As one must pass through the door And the other now lives in the past Where they beat together as before One grieving heart labors on this side The other soars high away Unmoved by love’s sorrowed tears cried Or entreaties for them to stay Two hearts asunder torn But as one they continue to beat For love forever hearts doth join In everlasting communion sweet Two hearts together themselves will find Through the mists and years of time Letters To Love A Sonnet Trilogy By La Belle Rouge ~1~ Love’s Budding Dear Love I pen these thoughts to thee alone Having found firmly and at last The resting place of passion’s home No longer prisoner to the past His face and form of beauty His words of dulcet sound My life’s most pleasant duty At last in love is clearly found He is the mystic lover For whom my soul has searched It matters not to me whether We be banded and churched For love has budded in my heart Never from him to be apart ~2~ Love’s Bloom Dear Love I lie awake to write to you once more Of full bloom of love’s sweet rose And total opening of hot passion’s door And now my heart eternally knows It could never want nor hope for more Than a love that satisfies and grows Giving pleasure and comfort sure The night with moonlight joy now glows As I became a lioness, no longer demure And all my love to him now shows In passion strong and devotion pure In sheltering arms my soul is known and knows For love has bloomed fully in my heart Never from him to be apart ~3~ Love’s Demise Dear Love I scarce can hold the pen to write For grief upon my soul doth heavily lie I sit in my chamber alone tonight And muse of how love so quickly did die After waves of soft pleasure and delight I discovered too late his treacherous lie And now you alone, Love, know my plight As I sit alone in the dark and question why Was not my love deemed warm and right As still I hear his strong pleasured sigh And I dread to see the morrow’s light And the rest of life’s days to go by For love has murdered my trusting heart Evermore from him to be apart 10/16/02 Copyright 7/27/2002 2002 La Belle Rouge "Life Is Poetry And Poetry Is Life" ~~Image #match Sharing Restricted~~ "Love Poetry" "Newest Items 13+ And Below" "Invalid Item" "Invalid Item" ** #446459 Not An Image **
