Haunted Secret

Somewhere hidden deep in the realm of my mind.
Lies a secret that I may never know in my lifetime.
From when I was a child this haunting puzzled me.
All I seem to be able to remember man with a hat.

Only had one arm will time ever reveal this secret?
Is it lost forever somewhere where it won't be found?
It is embedded deep in the memories of long ago.
I may never know the truth in my time on Earth.

Will it continue to plague my mind with skepticism?
Will it forever be in my mind out of my memories?
Will it release its grip it holds over my memories?
This illusive haunting may avoid attempts to free it.

Years have added to its mystery by burying it deeper.
Covering it with more recent memories in my past
Ghost never reveals itself then I'll have to accept it.
The fact this reality will never come to pass in time.

The one armed man who wore a hat sticks in past.
Maybe someday this haunted secret will be set free.
And release all of the grip and hold it has on my soul.
It will be cast out forever making itself known to me.
