BANDAIDS FOR THE HEART In this old world are many woes, Sadness that tears you apart; I'd really like to make it better With a band-aid for the heart. A parent weeping for a child That was too young to die; A terminal illness strikes Without a reason why. Sight is lost, and poverty Is knocking at the door; Homeless, jobless, hopeless - Doesn't matter anymore! Families are torn apart By anger, lust or greed - Babies are abandoned Out of selfish need. The flag is presented To a mother every day, Her child joined the service And died so far away - If I could only find a way To change wrong to right The world would be a better place For you to sleep tonight. There is no instant cure, But just to stop the bleeding It seems that band-aids for the heart Is just what we are needing! Countrymom Revised 9/29/09
