"The Butterfly in Us All" (7/24/02 -- 18 years old) ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ~*~*~ Inspired by Papillon The butterfly is a creature of many symbolic meanings. They show an acceptance of all creatures, wonder, amazement, and change, transforming from a fuzzy, unwanted caterpillar to a sought-after butterfly. This also shows the ability to accept change and that there is beauty in everything. Butterflies represent warmth, safety, and the necessity of a secure home as they reside in their cocoons. They are strength and persistence, success and the overcoming of obstacles and hardships while fighting their way out of their cocoons. They represent independence and personal growth, needing to emerge on their own. This shows that everything happens for a reason because if an outside force was to help the struggling butterfly escape from its cocoon, it would not be fully developed and would not be able to fly. When leaving the cocoon, the butterfly with its many colors represents beauty and creativity. They also are diversity because no two are the same. Then, butterflies fly with a lightness of heart and mind. They are freedom and individuality, flying in the manner and to the location of their choosing. Butterflies bring happiness, excitement, and smiles to the lives of those around them. Sometimes butterflies are caught and later released, providing hope and a renewed appreciation for life and freedom. Wingéd like angels, butterflies represent goodness, peace, and spirituality. They represent the stages of life: childhood since they are displayed in preschools and on children's clothing, adolescence since they go through drastic changes, and adulthood as an "adult" butterfly. Butterflies are a part of and represent nature and, therefore, also represent being "grounded" and at peace. Butterflies also symbolize excitement and anxiety as they float around in one's stomach. Everyone has a butterfly within them, and therefore possesses each of these characteristics. Some people, though, still need to let their butterfly out of the jar in which it is encaged to fly free within them. ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** This item has an item alias: butterfly
